Doha, Qatar: Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts Qatar (VCUarts Qatar), a Qatar Foundation partner university, has opened the Community and Continuing Education (CCE) Fall 2026 programmes for public enrollment. Running from late August through December, the fall offerings include two program streams. Continuing Education provides professional development for VCUarts Qatar alumni, creative professionals, and entrepreneurs. Community Education serves children, teenagers, and adult learners.

The Fall Continuing Education Program 2026 program begins on August 31 with Business Basics for Designers: How to Think Like an Entrepreneur. This course introduces fundamental business concepts and guides participants in developing creative ideas into viable ventures. The programmes is also being offered free of charge to eligible VCUarts Qatar alumni.

On September 26, VCUarts Qatar will also collaborate with BlackRook Academy to offer Design Thinking for Creative Problem Solving, an experience-led program for alumni and creative professionals. The two-day online/virtual course focuses on design thinking as a creative, human-centered approach to complex obstacles.

At the same time, the University’s Community Education Program kicks off the semester with a multitude hands-on learning courses will include animation, sustainable design, digital drawing, experimental art, interior design, social media, branding, and portfolio development.

For participants aged 16 and older, the season begins with Portfolio Development A on August 30, which is the first of the four-section program that runs until December 2, 2026. Students interested in pursuing art and design education will learn to develop competitive admissions portfolios while honing their creative thinking, development, and drawing skills.

The Community Education Program then expands into several areas of contemporary creative practice, such as Unconventional Canvas, starting September 6, which introduces art enthusiasts to modern approaches to art-making and invites them to experiment with materials, objects, and textures.

From September 20 to October 13, participants in Digital Drawing will explore creature and environment design using Procreate on iPads. They will learn how to transform initial concepts into fully rendered digital illustrations. Meanwhile, Design Your Home, starting October 6, introduces the fundamentals of planning spaces, furniture layouts, mood boards, color schemes, and selecting home finishes.

Starting November 2, Social Media Design & Branding: Create, Capture, Connect will study the relationship between branding, graphic design, photography, video, and digital storytelling. Learners will acquire the skills to develop their own social media brand — from concept to a final showcase. Participants aged 13 to 17 can enroll in Animation Tools: A Guide to Animation Software, starting September 2, to learn about 2D drawing, digital animation, and traditional animation techniques.

On September 6, younger learners aged 8 to 14 can take part in Sustainable Cardboard Furniture for Children, a hands-on introduction to sustainable design, engineering, and fabrication centered around designing and creating functional furniture from cardboard.
