Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Labour has released its operational statistics for the first quarter of 2026, outlining key activities across work permits, inspections, labour relations, and dispute resolution.
According to the statistics shared on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, various departments within the Ministry conducted a significant number of inspection visits across workplaces.
During the first quarter, the Ministry carried out a total of 587 inspections of recruitment offices.
Meanwhile, the Ministry’s Occupational Safety and Health Department conducted 8,240 inspections, including 5,918 visits to workplaces and 2,322 to workers’ accommodation sites.
The department also organised a total of 355 awareness programmes during this period.
The Labour Inspection Department detected 651 violations related to the Wage Protection System and issued 445 notices to companies, directing them to rectify the identified violations.
The department conducted a total of 8,101 inspection visits during the quarter.
The Labour Disputes Department registered 5,369 cases concerning workers’ complaints against establishments, of which 2,797 were successfully settled within the quarter.
The Ministry also received 486 public reports.
Additionally, the Labour Dispute Settlement Committees received 1,190 cases during this period and issued 2,228 decisions.
The Ministry also released statistics from its Work Permits Department. According to the data, the department received 4,144 new entity registration applications in the first quarter.
It also handled 1,124 applications to update officials’ data and 4,160 periodic establishment record update applications.
Recruitment applications recorded one of the highest volumes, reaching 25,341.
In addition, the department processed 6,133 special work permit applications and 84,717 general work permit renewal applications under personal numbers.
